Missing or Rather Found Keys- A Deepdive

This piece is very meaningful to me. I created this in September/October 2022 during the renovation of my new home with my wife. It felt like a huuuuge build up to when we finally signed the lease, in the final days of 5782, and I wanted to document the moving in with this painting. The base coat is the same paint as on our living room walls;attached to the canvas are leaves that flew through the window and pieces of wallpaper I had been peeling off of the walls; I used modge podge and glitter as an adhesive. I mixed ash with a binder, and created dynamic and slightly transparent grey lines. I found shapes and traced them in bright orange, green, blue and green and then sewed down a cupboard handle, an old key for a wardrobe, a key for a lock, a boat engine part, and a light fixture and more. A mishmashed collage of feelings, items, and experiences of this momentous time.
