Hani חאני Esther Indictor Portner (they/them/er) is a Queer, Disabled, Transgender, Jewish, Flamboyant artist, educator, historian, tour guide and witch. Hani creates artwork with bold color and an abundance of love and pride. Their work features Jewish themes, queer ancestors, and ritual objects intertwined with the celebration of community and togetherness. They research, write, teach, and create art that celebrates trans, queer, and Jewish stories. They aim to connect fellow humans with the land they live on to better protect the environment and create bridges of love with each other, our more than human neighbors, and the ancestors all around us. Hani teaches accessible workshops about art and nature, and has a podcast about Jewish Art History called Passing the Paintbrush. When they are not painting they are exploring the forest, archives or the streets of Berlin in their Rainbow wheelchair.
Hani immigrated to Berlin in 2018 for university and the freedom to explore their gender and transition; 3 months after arriving they were performing multiple times a month in drag at various bars and clubs all over the city and hosted their own shows. After their first covid infection and being diagnosed with a rare genetic connective tissue disorder, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Hani had to transition in another way to create events and spaces that could be more accessible to disabled and immunocompromised community members because everyone should have access to creative expression.

Born in California and Based in Berlin I have trained and experimented in drag, clowning, musical theater, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fashion design, garment fabrication, witchcraft, spell work, space facilitation, tattooing, ritual creation, music making, set design/decoration, light design, poetry, prose, farming, foraging, radical rest and more! I Received My Bachelor of Arts from Western Washington University in 2022 with My Thesis Titled –
