Charlotte Charlaque Portrait

Charlotte Charlaque’s life and story deserves attention and celebration! A line in the 1933 Ahlstedt article saying that Toni Ebel had a nude painting of Charlotte in the Nollendorfstrasse apartment has my imagination racing…..could this be the nude be on the back of another painting? Underneath? Or undiscovered still?

Painting style inspiration are My Nana Helen Berland’s Mona Lisa and Jewish Portrait Miniatures. Which were usually watercolor on Ivory and super small- ones’s palm or smaller! This one is a little bigger, on A4 watercolor paper, and made with ink and acrylic.

I painted it in Purple as that is the Color Charlotte was known to Paint!
